Standard Cooking Directions
Ratio: Use 1 cup of coarse bulgur to 2 cups of hot water (or vegetable/chicken stock).
Toast: Heat a splash of olive oil or butter in a saucepan, add the dry bulgur, and gently roast it for 1 minute to release its nutty aroma.
Simmer: Pour in the hot liquid, add salt to taste, cover tightly with a lid, and cook on low heat for roughly 15 minutes until all liquid is absorbed.
Rest: Turn off the heat and leave it covered to steam for 5–10 minutes before fluffing with a fork.
