Clan of the Kilt Brewing Kit - 5 Gallon (Wee Heavy Style)

As a part of our Celebrating 30 Years we developed this recipe in collaboration with Free State Brewery and McCoy's Public House (hence the Clan). Strong Scottish Ale is also known as Wee Heavy. This deep amber brew has red-orange highlights beneath the off-white head which gently collapses. It has a rich malt aroma with a hint of peaty earthiness. Layers of flavors dominated by sweet malt with toasty, roasty, caramely characteristics and a hint of smoke. Hopping is quite low, just enough to balance the sweetness and cleanse the palate. A rich, full-bodied beer. What better for a celebration?

Bacchus Batches have been developed, tweaked, and argued over for the last 40 years. Our kits feature expertly crafted recipes that cater to a range of tastes and preferences. Whether you're a fan of hop-forward IPAs, malt-driven stouts, or balanced pale ales, our recipes ensure you brew award winning beer with the freshest ingredients. All kits include grain, yeast, hops, and priming sugar (at no extra cost). Select grain milling at checkout, or drop it in the notes section. When shipping a kit, it is highly recommended to purchase an ice pack with an insulated shipper to ensure yeast health.
